what does e-design mean?
E-design is a term for ‘online interior design’. Whether you require concepts for a renovation, extension or just moodboards and shopping, I will provide you with a design to suit your style and requirements.
how do I get started?
We start with a Discovery Call. This is usually via Zoom and will take 15-20 minutes. We discuss your thoughts about the space you want designed, and I explain my process and which service we think would be most suitable for you. If we’re a good fit, I then follow up with a quotation and then you can decide if you want to go ahead.
what happens next?
Should you wish to proceed, I will send an invoice and design service agreement. Once you have placed your order we will schedule your onboarding consultation (via video call) which is included in all my services. This call helps me to gain a deeper understanding of your lifestyle, your tastes and most importantly, your goals for the space. I will ask for photographs and dimensions and whether you have any furniture you want to keep. I will also ask for any inspirational room images or furnishings that you would like to include in your design.
how do we stay in touch during the design stages?
As e-design process is all online, you will be given access to your own ‘Client Portal’ once the project is underway, and items will be added to the portal as we progress through your project stages. We will also have regular video calls as required throughout the project, and of course we can also stay in touch via email or telephone during my working hours.
are consultation calls included?
Consultation/meeting calls are limited to an ‘overall time’ depending on your chosen package. However, if you would like additional consultation time it will be charged at an hourly rate.
will I need to provide floorplans?
Yes I will need dimensions. Ideally you will have architect plans, or floorplans from the time you purchased your house. However if you don’t have plans a sketch will be fine and I will send you details of how to measure your room. I then draw these up to help you to understand the furniture placement and if your package includes a Visualisation, the 3D renders will give a representation how your actual room will look when all the design is pulled together.
how do I shop the look?
I will provide you with links for you to order any of the products either directly with the retailer at your leisure. If I can get any of the individual items cheaper for you, I would advise you of a discounted rate if ordered through Labode.
do I have to buy the products you suggest?
You are under no obligation whatsoever to buy the items I suggest. I will show you where you can buy the products I have selected to keep within the budget you are comfortable with. I do suggest setting your budget for £5,000 or more to get the best out of a new design but I will work within your budget to create a space that you love.
can you help me with structural changes?
Whilst you can use me as a sounding board to discuss potential ideas to change the internal layout of your home, I cannot advise you on any major structural changes. You would need to speak to an Architect or Structural Engineer for that kind of thing.
can I still get in touch with you when I’m trying to recreate the design in my home?
Yes of course! I will provide you with some tips to create your new design however if you have any questions once you are implementing your design, I am available via email. We can also arrange a telephone/video, but please note that consultation time outside of the package ‘allowance’ is charged at my hourly rate.
do you want photographs of my finished room?
Oh yes please!! I would be absolutely delighted to see your room once you have completed the look! I would also love your feedback so that I can use your testimonials on LABODE’s website (with your permission of course) and to share with others that are considering my service.
what if I have a complaint?
I hope that with regular communication we can discuss any queries as we go along as I want to help you achieve the space you’ve longed for. However, if there’s anything about the service you’re not happy with, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can help you in the best way I can.
